Timeline for Health Care Bill Provisions

By | April 15, 2010

There are many questions and concerns over the future role of insurance agents and consumers in all of the new provisions in the health care legislation being considered. The reforms currently taking place leave many people feeling uncertain not only as to what exactly is going to happen and how its going to work, but what their role in the new system is going to be like.

For many health insurance agents, the worry is if there will be a role for them to play? For consumers, it’s more about how much is it going to cost me? In answer to the first question, according to the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), the agent will still be needed, and continue to play an important role in the distribution of health insurance products. This role will continue much in the vein of an agent’s current role as that of a trusted advisor and guide. An answer to the second questions is still largely unknown.

For a quick preview on what’s coming up as far as changes and what those changes entail, NAHU has put out this timeline of healthcare bill provisions.
